Keep the classics free for every reader

Obscura Classics is free: every book and the whole book club, for anyone with an account. It’s kept going by readers who give what they can, monthly or once.

  • Every book stays free for every reader, with its modern-English edition, notes and introduction.
  • New classics are edited and added every week.
  • No adverts, and no selling of readers’ data. Ever.

Our thanks

Supporters get the Supporter badge by their name: while they give monthly, or for 365 days after giving once. Monthly supporters of $4 or more can start book clubs of their own.

Supporting with an account puts the badge by your name. Log in or join free first.

Payments are made securely through Stripe, in US dollars. Support is a gift to Obscura Classics: it isn’t tax-deductible. Monthly supporters stop any time in Settings → Support.
